Our real estate division is comprised of business/tourism travel and restaurants. We take historic downtown buildings and turn them into thriving businesses. Using a short-term rental model, we can take a relatively small space and turn it into a resting spot for business travelers and tourists. Inspired by the unique character of the building and the community, we design restaurants with a clean, classic, and cozy feel.
A shining example of the care and detail we take in preserving and revitalizing historic buildings. Gibson’s Warehouse, located across from the iconic Staunton train station, was awarded the Commercial Rehabilitation Award from the Historic Downtown Foundation. Originally designed in 1905 by famed Virginia architect T.J. Collins, this former farm implement store was fully renovated into a boutique hotel inspired by the space’s general store history.
In addition to traditional real estate spaces, we view nontraditional sites with the same vision. Currently under development is the future location of Valley Garage Doors. This former 1950’s gas station is being revitalized as a contemporary showroom and storage facility for one of our partnership companies.
Jimmy Madison’s was the result of an extensive remodel and rebranding of a previous restaurant. Done in a leased space, we modeled a new whiskey bar and smokehouse by incorporating the unique features of the space and incorporating Harrisonburg’s local university. Go Dukes!
